Student research

Below is a selection of student reports.

Education program

WAMSI provides educational opportunities for postgraduate students in a program coordinated by four Western Australian universities – The University of Western Australia, Curtin University of Technology, Murdoch University and Edith Cowan University.

Marine science covers biology, chemistry, engineering, mathematics and physics. WAMSI offers postgraduate scholarships to students who are keen to continue their studies in the marine field.

WAMSI liaises with State and Federal Government agencies to ensure WA postgraduate students have significant exposure to the workplace and take advantage of the skills and experience available.

The focus to use local postgraduate students is driven by the increasing need for appropriately trained people in the expanding WA marine industry and research sector.
High calibre senior scientists and academics supervise 17 postgraduate students in a program that is increasing WA’s national and international reputation as being an icon of excellence in the delivery of tertiary education in the marine sciences and engineering fields.

The students are an integral part of WAMSI's vision for the future and join the 250 scientists working on WAMSI's research projects.
