WAMSI Monitoring for Action Conference

WAMSI Monitoring for Effect Conference

Western Australia’s marine environment offers a wealth of biodiversity, unique marine habitats, abundant resources and social values.

The Western Australian Marine Science Institution (WAMSI) has more than 50 projects dedicated to developing techniques to monitor the marine environment.

The symposium, Monitoring for effect: marine and coastal monitoring techniques and design will outline what we are doing today and how we can further improve our approaches to marine and coastal monitoring.

Two of WAMSI’s partners, the WA Department of Environment and Conservation and the WA Department of Fisheries, have used monitoring as an integral part of their business for many years, and will showcase their work and future requirements.

The symposium is being sponsored by

  • the WA Marine Science Institution,
  • the WA Museum,
  • the Australian Institute of Marine Science,
  • Murdoch University,
