Media Release: Western Australian Marine Science Institution
24th October 2013 - For Immediate Release
Research scientists have started voyages into the remote Kimberley marine environment as the major fieldwork stage of the Kimberley Marine Research Program begins.
The Western Australian Marine Science Institution (WAMSI) is undertaking the 5 year, $30million program, which will be the first major baseline study of how our iconic but largely unknown north-west marine environment works.
The WAMSI research will mean better management within the new State Government initiated marine parks increasing the chances of their success, and a baseline of information that can be used to consider future coastal or offshore development proposals.
