Sea change for CEO

WAMSI’s Chief Executive Officer took a ‘sea change’ by visiting students at the Wembley Downs Primary School on World Oceans Day on 8 June 2010.

Instead of meeting executives Dr Steve Blake armed himself with turtle and coral exhibits as he spoke to more than 300 students, class by class, about the importance of marine life.

“They were very excited to see someone from the marine science institution and absolutely fascinated with the exhibits,” he said.

“They had a huge interest in the marine environment so it was worthwhile to take time out and get back to grass roots – our children, who are our future.”
