Ocean science for offshore and coastal engineering
An Ocean Science for Offshore and Coastal Engineering symposium - part of a series of symposia being held to summarise four years of Western Australian Marine Science Institution research - will be held at the University of Western Australia on November 26.
The venue is the Woolnough Lecture Theatre, Geography Building. The symposia will start at 1pm and end at 5.30pm. It is a free event.

Much of the work is directly relevant to the oil and gas industry's ocean engineering structures. The primary focus of this research has been on the Australian North West Shelf (NWS) and the ocean waters extending from North West Cape to the Timor Sea.
Professor Greg Ivey (pictured), Winthrop Professor of Geophysical Fluid Dynamics at The University of Western Australia, leads the research.
