A symposium about the effect of humans and natural forces on coastal ecosystems will be held on 29 July at CSIRO's Floreat office.

WAMSI’s Chief Executive Officer took a ‘sea change’ by visiting students at the Wembley Downs Primary School on World Oceans Day on 8 June 2010.

Instead of meeting executives Dr Steve Blake armed himself with turtle and coral exhibits as he spoke to more than 300 students, class by class, about the importance of marine life.

Graduate students are invited to present research proposals, initial findings or final outcomes relating to the Ningaloo Marine Park and surrounding region at a Student Research Day on 30 March.

Western Australian Marine Science Institution Chief Executive Officer, Dr Steve Blake, met Chevron's senior staff at a presentation recently.

He provided an outline of WAMSI's goals and aims, and spoke about new research in the Kimberley-Browse region.

The conference Shaping Australia's Resilience: Policy development for uncertain futures will be held at the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia, on 18-19 February 2010.
