Based at their new premises on the CSIRO site, WAMSI HQ oversee financial and science planning and provide full administration support for the WAMSI Board, committees and sub-committees. They coordinate collaboration and research activities, legal and financial management, data management and storage, research assessments, communication, conferences and symposia.

Patrick Seares (CEO) is responsible for implementing the Boards strategic direction for the WAMSI joint venture. Much of his work involves resolving strategic issues facing the research, engaging senior government and industry stakeholders and improving the operations of WAMSI.  Patrick Seares joined WAMSI as the Chief Executive Officer on the 2nd April 2013.

Linda McGowan (General Manager) is responsible for the day to day running of WAMSI and provides the management of the financial, legal and administrative operations of the Institution’s headquarters and research programs. She is Executive Secretary to the Governing Board. Linda joined WAMSI in January 2008.

Trish Wells (Personal Assistant) is the Personal Assistant to Mr Patrick Seares and supports the administration of WAMSI.  Trish commenced with WAMSI in June 2013.

Jenny Shaw works at WAMSI as the Project Lead for the Blueprint for Marine Science Initiative Decommissioning Project. Previously Jenny was Principal Investigator for the FRDC project in Climate Change Adaptation: Building community knowledge.
