Annual Perth Program Office (PPO) in support of UNESCO/IMarEST Western Australian Branch Marine Studies Awards

The Awards are sponsored by the Perth Programme Office, in support of the IOC of UNESCO ( and the Western Australian Branch of IMarEST ( ) and recognise students who have excelled in marine related research and training. The Awards for Category 1 and 2 are based on the submission of an Abstract in the first instance, pertaining to work completed in 2017. Abstracts are assessed by the PPO and short-listed, and selected students called upon to present their research at the 2017 Awards Evening. The presentations are assessed by a panel of judges and awards presented on the evening. The Awards for Category 3 are based upon the recommendation of course lecturers at the Challenger Institute of Technology, the nominated students are also required to give a brief presentation on their work at the Awards Evening.

The 2017 Award Evening will be held on Wednesday 18th October 2017 at the FLYING ANGEL CLUB, 76 Queen Victoria Street, Fremantle (parking at rear of premises, off Beach Street).
Light refreshments served 4:30-5:00pm, followed by presentations and awards 5:00pm -7:00pm
