Camden Sound Marine Park announced

The WA Premier, Colin Barnett, and the WA Environment, Minister Bill Marmion, announced on 19 April 2012, the State Government’s decision to create the Camden Sound Marine Park in the Kimberley:

Over the coming years, the WAMSI Kimberley Marine Research Program will further inform the management and monitoring of this unique region, in direct support of the State's Kimberley Science and Conservation Strategy

Camden Sound Marine Park covers approximately 7,062 square kilometres, which will make it the second largest marine park in Western Australia behind Shark Bay.
