The node leaders are supported by a Science Coordinator, Kevin Crane from OEPA, who is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Node. Collectively they form the Node Leadership Team responsible for ensuring effective implementation.
The Node Leader (Science) is primarily responsible for high quality science and producing outputs in a form suitable for environmental impact assessment and management of dredging activities. The Node Leader (Policy) is primarily responsible for the development of products suitable for adoption by Government and the private sector for environmental impact assessment and management of marine dredging activities.
The Dredging Science Advisory Committee (DSAC) is a key element of the Node structure. The DSAC provides end user guidance and advice on the science questions and priorities to be undertaken by the Dredging Science Node and to help ensure that the outputs are relevant, practical and fit for purpose. The DSAC is comprised of key stakeholders, including senior representatives of the industry funding bodies, key government agencies, the Environmental Consultants Association, the WAMSI CEO and the Node Leadership Team. The individual DSAC members also provide direct pathways for adoption of the Node’s outputs.
